  • For Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Reaper Reason and Studio One users, Panorama is a dream come true. The dedicated communication protocol ties Panorama and your DAW tightly together, so all you have to do is select the mode and menu you want to control. Panorama does the rest.
  • Mar 09, 2017  Anyone using Nektar Panorama P6 or P4 Keyboard integration with Studio One? It is so outstanding, that it is actually keeping me from moving back over to Studio One. Also, if you are on Twitter, get on there and request support for it to the PreSonus Twitter account. This will get people looking at it. I am with you, they really need to.

If you want to make changes to plug-in mapping you can do that right within Studio One. Read the Studio One Reference Manual’s chapter 11 for additional information and instructions about how to do this. Nektar Impact LX25 User Guide www.nektartech.com. Page 11: Studio One Drum Instrument.

Don't have the unit or any experience with it.
I do however have lots of experience with midi and controller setup and would say this unit will be capable of doing anything you want with S1.
Unless they have an S1 template (which I doubt) you will have to do the setup yourself.
Most of it would be easy but some would require writing (or editing an existing ) instument definition xml file,to get the motoriized fader to respond and create fader banks for example.
Looks like a nice contoller if someone wants to buy me one I'll create the template

I got a reply
Right now, Panorama can be used with our Studio setups described here:
http://www.nektartech.com/s.nl/ctype.KB/it.I/id.1606/KB.533/.f?sc=26&category=8
It doesn't provide feedback for the motorized fader as there is no feedback right now from Studio One.
It's possible there will be a deeper implementation in the future for Studio One ( we would like that to happen and have been looking at it) but I can't give any timeframe at this point.
All the best
Niels
They even provide mapping template

It's not true that Studio One doesn't send feedback. You've just to set it up correctly.. Maybe they didn't know how to do it.

So does this work--does S1 send feedback for the fader to playback automation data?

What protocol does the controller element of the keyboard use? Mackie or is it it's own proprietary system?
Hopefully 2.6 will have better controller support.

I use the Nektar midi controller and the motorized fader doesn't respond to very well here, I can lower and raise volumes, but thats about it, it can be assigned to automation, but I haven't been able to control rides alike my faderport.
Hopefully Nektar and Presonus add support for it in S1, there's a video out that shows it already supports bitwig with complete deep integration already. I'm very interested in this and would love s1 to be along the same support lines.

I looooove my Panorama P4, it works beautiful with Reason 7, the Studio One template is ok, it works, but nothing special imo (not like the Reason deep integration). If Nektar can do the same with Studio One as they did with the Reason/Cubase/Nuendo integration it would be fabulous! I hope Presonus is already giving a helping hand in making this happen.

33tetragammon, I agree the integration with Reason is top notch, hopefully presonus are working with them to provide great support for s1

May 19, 2017  Hello. I am a Traktor Pro 2 user (serial come with my S4) Some months ago i bought an S8 (that come with a Scratch Pro 2 license - never installed because i always used Traktor Pro 2). Now i decided to buy two turntable, so i need my copy of Traktor Scratch 2 Pro. In my account i have: 'TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2 MK2 for TKS8'. Native instruments redownload traktor pro 2. Throw on a couple of good tunes, and TRAKTOR DJ 2 will get them playing in sync for you. If you want to jump around the track using Hotcues, or loop a section that really hits the spot, then TRAKTOR DJ 2 keeps everything on-beat – so you’ll always be in the flow. TRAKTOR DJ 2 also lets you edit beatgrids, so they work exactly the way you want.

I know the motorized fader in Nektar requires an additional USB, so that sort of puzzles me just a bit (A late design add-on?). Not sure, but it's obviously a great unit, and pretty much is seamless with Reason.
As to the motorized fader, you could then really benefit from any controller, and add the Presonus Faderport, unless you're really sold on only the Nektar, but remember you'll occupy two USB ports.
Just one recommendation if I may. I happen to REALLY enjoy the Novation 25SL MKII, with my laptop. You can opt for the 49, 61, & non key versions.
Two major plusses are it's touch sensitive knobs, and faders are great with S1, and being touch sensitive, any assigned control illuminates in S1, for example on the mixer faders in S1. If I added the Faderport, there would be little I'd be looking for from the Nektar Panorama.
Oh yeah, the 'Speed Dial' (also in a few other Novation products) is a great addition, as if you move the cursor over ANY knob, fader, arrow or pretty much anything at all operational on the screen, the speed dial instantly controls it (no setup necessary, as it is instant).
Great for placing the cursor over patches for synths, samplers, because you then just turn the knob to play the next patch.
It's virtually instant. Don't believe any other controller, including Panorama have such a control.
Anyway, good luck.
